Korean Fish Cake Food:
Fish, salt, water, wheat, and an egg are frequently used in Asian cuisine to make fishcakes. They could have a mixture of fish paste and surimi in them. European-style fishcakes, which resemble croquettes, are cooked with filleted fish or other seafood and a potato patty that is sometimes covered in batter or breadcrumbs. The Oxford Dictionary of Food and Nutrition defines fishcakes as a combination of chopped or minced fish, potato, egg, flour, and seasonings such as onions, peppers, and occasionally herbs.
Some people think that making fishcakes is a good way to use up leftovers that might otherwise go to waste. Mrs. Beeton offered a recipe for fishcakes that called for "leftover fish" and "cold potatoes" in her nineteenth-century book Book of Household.
